Fuel:
Multi-fuel System: Dry shelled corn, Wood pellets (recommended maximum size approximately ¼ in. diameter x ½ in. long), or “BIXBY” certified Blue or Green Biomass pellets. The use of “Cracked Corn” in not recommended due to feed and burn issues.
The use of lower quality corn with foreign material (cobs, stones, or other material) may cause feed issues. When loading the corn into the hoper, remove as much foreign material as possible
Because the Bixby Stove has the ferris wheel feeding system it is not necessary to purchase cleaned corn. In the picture below notice the chaff is left at the bottom of the hopper--the ferris wheel will not pick it up.
This reduces noisy augers and the chances of your stove shutting down because of a jammed augger. The ferris wheel system reduces your corn cost as it is not necessary to have the corn cleaned before you put it in the stove.
